This home is located approximately 2 miles (5 minute drive without traffic) from downtown Palm Springs and 1.1 miles (3 minute drive without traffic) from the Palm Springs International Airport. Please note that this home is located on a main road. However, the large 10,500 sq. ft. lot provides generous space and privacy. The house sits back from the road but some guests may still hear some street noise. ---------- ROOM DESCRIPTIONS * LIVING ROOM: The chic living room has a 52" Samsung Roku TV, a Miss Pac-Man video game arcade console, mid-century modern decor, porcelain tile floor, and seating for everyone with 2 sofas, 1 loveseat, and 2 armchairs. The arcade console has several classic video games including Galaga, Dig Dug, various Pac-Man series games, and more. * KITCHEN: The open-concept kitchen has cooking essentials, a spice rack, a knife set, a toaster, a toaster oven, a Keurig coffee maker, a Hamilton Beach drip coffee maker, a tea kettle, porcelain tile floor, and more. This kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a Whirlpool range. * DINING AREA: The dining area is located near the kitchen. It has porcelain tile floor and a dining table with seating for 6 guests. * PATIO & YARD: The huge fenced yard offers 10,500 square feet of privacy and amenities galore. The backyard has a big patio, a pool, a built-in hot tub, 6 lounge chairs, a fire pit, an outdoor dining table with seating for 6 guests, a barbecue grill, and outdoor seating. * POOL: Please note that there is a $85 fee per day to heat the pool. Palm Springs requires that guests sign an e-sign rental agreement & good neighbor policy off of AirBnB as well as sending us a picture of your ID agreeing to the house rules below. ------------------------------ PALM SPRING'S GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICIES The following text is from the "Good Neighbor Policy" brochure given to all Palm Springs renters. ---------- WELCOME TO PALM SPRINGS Palm Springs is world-famous for its warm welcoming of visitors while on vacation. We are pleased you have chosen to spend your vacation in our city. There is so much to see and do. Or, if you choose, just sit back, relax and do nothing at all. Like many of our visitors, you have decided to rent a house or a condominium for your own unique experience. That’s great. There are many benefits to doing that. Perhaps the greatest benefit is the pleasure of residing even for a short stay in one of our beautiful residential neighborhoods. You will be among many permanent residents who value the look and feel of a quiet and safe place to live. They, and the city, will look to you for your help in preserving that sense of peace and quiet. In short, being a vacation renter also means being a good neighbor. ---------- WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW This brochure is intended to highlight a few ways you can be a good neighbor and to inform you of Palm Spring’s Vacation Rental guidelines during your stay. Please do not create excessive noise or disturbances or engage in disorderly conduct. Consider how you would want your neighbors to behave in your own neighborhood back home. Chances are your Palm Springs neighbors will expect the same of you. A little consideration goes a long way. We ask you to please observe the following city of Palm Springs Rules and Regulations for Vacation Rentals. ---------- WHO’S MAKING ALL THAT NOISE? NO MUSIC or SOUND (TV, cell phone, radio, etc) are allowed outside at any time. Any type of SOUND from any sound producing device is not allowed outside of your Vacation Rental unit. This includes music coming from the inside of the home that can be heard outside. If your neighbors can hear the noise, you are in violation of the City Ordinance. While NO MUSIC or SOUND (TV, cell phone, radio, etc) are allowed outside at any time, QUIET TIME is between 10 pm and 10 am. Please consider moving indoors after 10 pm. If you choose to be outside, please be considerate of the neighbors and use low voices. Please remember our neighborhoods are quiet, surrounded by mountains and voices can easily carry. POOL TIME is one of the most popular activities to enjoy in Palm Springs. Please keep voices and pool activities to a reasonable level. Continued and ongoing screaming for an extended period of time is one way to disturb the neighbors. Please be thoughtful. A CALL from the neighbors to the city will bring Code Compliance Officers to your door. Our officers may issue you a citation if you exceed the allowed noise levels or if another violation is observed. So please, keep the noise down and be considerate of the neighbors. You may be on vacation, but other occupants in homes around your vacation home may not be. ---------- WHOSE CAR IS THAT? Only ONE vehicle per bedroom is allowed at any given time. Utilize driveway and/or garage when PARKING your vehicle before using street parking. And never block any driveway or street access. ---------- PUPPY LOVE Palm Springs requires that all dogs be on a LEASH whenever they are outside, except in the city’s Dog Park. Also, we expect everyone to pick up after their pet. NEVER leave your pet unattended in a vehicle; it is illegal all year long. And just like at home, a barking or whining dog disturbs the neighbors. ---------- WHOSE TURN IS IT TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH? Palm Springs residents recycle as much as they can and we hope you will too. If you have a blue recycling cart where you are staying, please use it to recycle metal, paper, glass and plastic products. Please DO NOT STORE trash and refuse within PUBLIC VIEW, except in proper containers for the purpose of collection. If you are staying in a house, PSDS will pick up your trash and empty your recycling cart on your scheduled collection day(s). Please do not leave trash or recycling at the curb. ---------- WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW? Please keep in mind that you will be cited or fined by the city, or even immediately evicted by the owner, for creating a disturbance or for violating any provisions of the Palm Spring’s Vacation Rental Ordinance. The minimum fine is $500 per violation. The surrounding neighbors have been given a 24-hour number to CALL should they need to report a complaint. ------------------------------ Our house is located in a nice and quiet family neighborhood therefore, we do limit renters to people who are 25+ years old. (families with children under 25 ARE allowed as well) Potential renters may be asked to verify their age by providing a copy of their driver’s license or another form of official identification in person, at check-in. QUIET HOURS: The official quiet hours for Palm Springs are 10 pm to 10 am. Please keep noise to a minimum outside after 10 pm. If the Code Enforcement Department is called on you due to disruptions, use of the hot tub after hours, loudness, music, too many people, too many cars, or ANY OTHER City of Big Bear Lake Code violations, you will be responsible for the fine issued to you as well as the fine issued to the owners (which could be at least $1000), you also may be asked to leave and no refund of remaining nights will be issued. CHECK IN & CHECK OUT: Check in time is 4 PM. Check out time is 11 AM. Consider booking the day prior to your stay or after your stay if you wish for an early check-in or late check-out, as we are unable to accommodate these. If you stay past check-out without permission, the cleaners will charge me and, therefore, I must charge you $100. If you stay 30 min past check out, you will be charged for the entire next night stay as well (without being able to stay). If you check in early there is a very good chance the house may have not been cleaned or inspected properly. And if the cleaners see a car in the driveway they will drive away. So if you try to check in early without permission- you forfeit the right to a clean house and any compensation. Hot Tub/ Pool: Use of pool and hot tub is at your own risk. You MUST follow these rules. We assume no responsibility for accidents, injury or any medical treatment you claim is caused by pool or hot tub. Don’t enter a hot tub when you have diarrhea. Don’t swallow hot tub water or even get it into your mouth. Shower or bathe with soap before and after using the hot tub. Do not put anything in hot tub or pool including bubble bath Pets are not allowed in hot tub If hot tub or pool smells, looks cloudy or green DO NOT use. Call us. CDA recommends children less than 5 years of age use hot tubs. Don’t drink alcohol before entering the hot tub or during hot tub use. If pregnant, consult a physician before hot tub use, particularly in the first trimester PETS: Your pets are permitted in rental units only with prior approval. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any / all pet refuse and hair in and around cabin. All pets must be up-to-date on rabies vaccinations and all other vaccinations. Heartworm prevention is highly recommended. All pets are to be treated with Advantage or similar topical flea and tick repellent Fleas and ticks are very rampant in this area and can cause harmful / fatal illness to humans and pets. All items above are the sole responsibility of the pet owner. The cabin owners assume no responsibility for illness or injury that humans or pets may incur while on the premises. Pets may NOT be left outside alone at any time. We also insist that you ALWAYS walk your dog on a leash. This is important for the protection of your pet and is required by Palm Springs.
